Welcome Night on February 27, 2013
After an exciting scientific program, you are invited to attend the official opening event at the first conference day. The Welcome Night starts at 7:00 pm in the Augusteum, the main building of the university. Participation is included the WI2013 registration fee.
WI2013 Night - Leipzig in Motion on February 28, 2013
On the second conference day we invite you to a the WI2013 night which will take place at the Porsche factory where fascinating cars, such as Cayenne and the Panamera are manufactured. Participation is also included in the registration fee, bus starts from 6:15 until 7:00 pm from the university.

You can book all sightseeing tours and excursions for an extra fee. You have the possibility to book it within the conference registration.
Sightseeing tours on February 27, 2013
All guided tours through the city of Leipzig start at the registration (Neues Augusteum) at 5:15 pm and end there at 7:00 pm. The price per person and tour is 12 €. Please note, that all three guided tours through the city are in German.
ON THE TRAIL OF THE MUSIC
Leipzig offers a great number of authentic places that are connected with the life and work of such outstanding musicians and composers like Bach, Mendelssohn, Wagner, Schumann, Telemann, Grieg or Mahler. Follow us on the “Leipzig Music Trail”, a walk through the city centre marked with steel inlays on the floor. We will also see the concert hall where our famous Gewandhaus Orchestra is playing and the churches where St. Thomas boys choir is singing, that has a tradition of 800 years.

"CRIME STORIES AT NIGHT" WITH THRILLER AUTHOR HENNER KOTTE
There had been a lot of crime stories in Leipzig with thieves, murderers and many mysterious incidents: In the year 1925 there was a wife who cooked her husband, a famous picture of Rembrandt was stolen by Mr. Schweiger for at least 10 minutes and Leipzig had two centers for suicides. Get to know the dark side of Leipzig - represented by a specialist, examples of literature included.

BMW Leipzig plant
The BMW Leipzig Plant is one of the most modern automobile plants in the world. The production for customers around the world began in March 2005. Up to 740 vehicles roll off the production lines every day. Experience the production of BMWs, from the welding of steel parts into car bodies, the paint shop to the individual interior equipment in the assembly.

AMAZON logistics centre Leipzig
During this excursion you can get detailed insights into the processes of a large logistics center. The excursion to Amazon Leipzig is intended only for students, scientific staff and other university members.
